However, rats make better pets. They're more intelligent and live longer. However you should get 2 if you decide to have them. Most importantly, spend $200+ on them. Make sure you get a large cage, proper litter, and lots of stuff for them to play with. Rats are some of the most intelligent creatures on the planet and live for 2 years. You need to keep them properly stimulated and cared for.

Also, they shit. Constantly. They can't help it. They can not be potty trained since they have to go dozens of times throughout the day. If you can't handle that, you shouldn't have rats.

Having owned both, ditto to AUG. Rats are better. Mice have near-sightedness so they can't tell what's going on when something in the room moves. Rats can see something across a room and decide they want to climb it. Mice shit on average at least 70 times per day. However, their life span is 1.5-2 years (bell curve for those that live to 3)

well then if i were to get either of them a rat seems smarter but im not getting either cause im not gonna waste my time cleaning every time it goes to the bathroom
