Minecraft

Mostly, I just want to see if anyone else on here plays it. I actually bought the online version and enjoy it quite a lot, despite being an incomplete beta as of yet.

For those of you who don't know:

An entertaining series about Minecraft. That's an older edition, so there are a few new features, but you'll see them if you watch to the more recent episodes.

I bought it, but it recently was usurped by a game I enjoy much more that is similar in some ways:

I've played something available on xbox live called FortressCraft, which is in essence, either a complete rip off or something done by someone who wanted to make Minecraft 'better.' I dunno. Having not played Minecraft I don't know whats similar... but a friend of mine did say it was a shit rip off. There aren't enemies to fight and you have a bunch of different blocks in your inventory that you can use right away, so you just... build things. I personally covered a building in Space Invaders and wrote 'welcome earthlings' in bright orange across the sky. I doubt I'll go back to it. But then again I think they are releasing Minecraft for the xbox so I'll get back to you guys on that one too.

FortressCraft, and its bastardized twin "TotalMiner" are rip-offs of MineCraft. They are utter shit and the only thing keeping them around is Notch's good graces that he doesn't want to sue.

I did notice that Fortresscraft was an 'indie' game and hadn't yet been reviewed by Microsoft... could still be a lawsuit yet.

I do know the history of the guy who made Minecraft, and I know he's essentially moved up from one guy with a gaming background and a dream to guy who made a game people love. So when ze offical game comes out, I will be all over it.

I know that it's been out for months; however, I do not have a computer of my own, so I would have to get it, offical minecraft, through xbox live, which is soon to be released. Just to clear that up.
