I love Nirvana. I don't care how Kurt died or what their music influenced as much as how good the music is.

Not all of it is grunge, and not all of it is shit.

Seriously, I don't want a flame war, every one has their own opinions; If you don't like Nirvana, grunge, bands they spawned etc then fair enough...It doesn't mean that they "suck" its just not your cup of tea, so to speak. Not everyone likes rock, not everyone likes rap, whatever.

Guitar Clock wrote:Not all of it is grunge, and not all of it is shit.

Agreed, Bleach, Nirvana's first album from '89 is very punk sounding, quite different to their later stuff.

Abstract wrote:Yah, I agree with nameless and Darky. Nirvanna spawned countless hsitty bands that ruined what was left of the already stupid punk/grunge genre.

Is it really fair to blame Nirvana/Cobain for bands that spawned more than ten years after their demise? Come on people.

Darklire wrote:Kurt Cobain was a blubberng vagina who shot himself because he thought he was making too much money.

And no, it wasn't his crack whore of a wife. He was just a blubbering vagina.

And grunge killed modern rock.

My God, you are insensitive. Kurts music has done so much for people, apart from The Pistol's: Nevermind the Bollocks, no album has changed the way we look at music more than Nevermind. Grunge brought rock back from the dead, fuck, most people were turning to rap/hip-hop before that album. And calling any artist, especially one of a calibre of Kurt a "blubbering vagina" is just stupid; yes his music was, at times, depressive as fuck and sad and angry and upsetting and disturbing. But thats just what alot of people need; something that says that its okay to be upset, angry etc.

That was only one reason I don't like them. IMO, they're just a garage band without much talent. Nirvana gained thousands of deep emo followers after Kurt kicked the bucket, too. I don't think all punk/grunge bands suck, but Nirvana does.

So let me understand this here, you people are arguing about wether Nirvana and grunge is cool or not...

Hmm.. someone needs to have a cup of tee and smoke some crack :)
As Heatworm said it's a prefference, the disscusion should be carried out in the Music section and I really need to get back to work..

that's illigal in most states 0.o haha

You can't really classify one genera of music as being emo or emotional, because doesn't every type of music insinuate some emotion of some sort? the degree of emotion is another story though, personally i think that Kirt was a good song writer and a good musician as was Nirvana.

these intro threads always seem to turn into musical arguments. My first one before the server crash became a debate about Michael Jackson if I remember correctly.
Dunno how the fuck that happened.

I have discovered that Heartworm lives in the same town and country as me. I may know him.
