Hello. I am Anarch. I am a self-professed wordsmith. That means I enjoy playing with words, and am especially fascinated by the art of poetry. You will probably remember me most for my poems and stories. If I go on a debate thread, you might remember me for my unique perspective on life. These are my mottos:

I was unaware there were emo people in North Dakota. I thought many of them moved to South Dakota already to marvel at their founding fathers.

Well, I define a "wordsmith" as really anyone who plays with words. So whether I'm inventing or redefining words (which I occasionally do) or I'm assembling them in rhythmic verses of poetry, I'm playing with them and thus meeting my definition of a wordsmith.

By the way, where can I post my work? Which forum?

This is just my personal inference but I do not believe you're the kind of person in a position to redefine words in the English language.

Please do not post your work. While you still have a chance to gain even a little respect from the users on this board, don't post it.

What I mean by redefining words is basically just making the definitions more logical. For example:

Random House Webster's College Dictionary says:

murder, n. the unlawful killing of a person, esp. when done in deliberation or premeditation or occuring during the commission of another serious crime (first-degree murder) or with intent but without deliberation or premeditation (second-degree murder).

I say:

murder, n. The willing and witting termination of another person's life, successfully (murder) or unsuccessfully (attempted murder), by direct or indirect means.

Both definitions basically mean the same thing, but the wording was more systematic in mine.

By the way, why can't I post my work?

PS: Someone implied I'm emo.... Actually, I'm autistic. It's a different clique altogether, though it's in the same category as goths and emos.

Autism is a mental disorder... i don't understand how this term can be used for subcultures. It's like calling yourself anorexic just because you're slimmer than the others.

I agree with Gravesent, really people, what the hell. You're taking a negative stance against anyone new. It's always been that new people have to prove themselves in time to gain our respect, but what will happen if you just start giving them crap from the beginning.

Obviously you appear to have an artistic inclination, my suggestion is to use it for something else, not too many people are interested in new deffinitions for words, 99% won't even bother to read till the end.. just a thought..

First of all, yes, it is not necessarily a term that applies to a clique, but one will find that at schools with two or more autistics that we tend to clump together and create our own little clique, unique from any other.

And second of all, it's not a disorder. Most autistics I know will get offended if you call it that, including me. Autism is not a handicap. Autistics can think clearer and more logically than the average person, which is why we tend to have higher IQs. I don't mean to sound haughty, but it really is more of an advantage.

I didn't want to offend you or any other autist. It's just that you used the term in context with the gothic and emo subculture, implying that autism is a (youth generated) subculture by itself.
