Meddle makes it into my top 5 albums by Pink Floyd.

5. Atom Heart Mother (or) Saucerful of Secrets
4. Animals
3. Meddle
2. Dark Side of the Moon
1. Wish You Were Here

Wish You Were Here changed my life.

Did you mean to actually say something there, or are you just agreeing with me?

Azgarth wrote:anarch, you listen to waits? i love his work.

do you prefer his older stuff, or the more recent, more experimental(though that really started with swordfishrombones, which is a fairly old album, 84, IIRC)?

i've still yet to find anything from before his first album, i read his voice changed greatly, and i'm curious how it was in the beginning.

curious now though, what do you think of velvet underground? lou reed's solo stuff? genesis? nick cave & the bad seeds?

I only have three albums by Waits (Swordishtrombones, Real Gone, and Mule Variations). I can't say I really have a favourite from among the albums themselves, but I do like several of the songs more than the others.

1. Don't go into that barn
2. Underground
3. Eyeball kid
4. Swordfishtrombone
5. Hoist that rag

Which of those have you heard, if any?

I have Animals and Wish you were here, but I haven't listened to them yet. I've been meaning to get around to that. Furthermore, I am often shocked and disgusted that I neither have nor have heard Dark side of the moon.

Dark Side of the Moon and Wish You were Here are absolutely AMAZING. Animals is pretty good too, though it isn't my favorite.

Reserve Wish You Were Here for night time, with all the world asleep, and noise-cancelling headphones.

I don't have any noise cancelling headphones, and my dad usually plays his guitar at night. A better choice would be in the afternoon, when he hasn't come home from work yet. (My windows are all blocked off, so I almost never notice whether it's day or night.)

"Come in here
Dear boy
Have a cigar.
You're gonna go far.
You're gonna fly high,
You're never gonna die,
You're gonna make it if you try
They're gonna love you."

And the song itself is as tempting and seductive as words used to captivate.

I could imagine the impact that song had.
