Well it's not such a bad language. It was a close second for me.

Would you rather have German as an option, or another language? (If you could)

Yeah, I've already picked up some Spanish from my junior and senior friends. French seems easy to me too.
I'd love to learn Japanese, but honestly, where I live the chances of the students ever needing it is minimal. Same with French, but oh well.

Japanese, eh? Awesome.

I'm actually taking Beginning Japanese at a nearby college during my senior year of high school (this next school year).

Sadly, the beginning class is all they offer.

Thats too bad. I'm fairly certain that the closest community college where I live only has german. That's really sad.
Never get stuck in some middle of nowhere small town! :x

Ironically, I am in a relatively middle of nowhere small town. It just happens to have a college w/ Japanese not too far away.

By middle of nowhere, I mean that as far as I'm concerned, nothing exists out of our 30 square miles comprised of four or five town/city like things.

I know English, Tagalog(my native language), basic of Spanish and Portuguese, and some Japanese.

The nice thing about Tagalog, Spanish and Portuguese, we say bitch at the same manner, it's puta. :o

Does Tagalog sound much like Spanish and Portuguese?

Not really. We just have some Spanish and Portuguese influences because they were the one who invaded us. So it is pretty easy for me to understand some of their words. :)

Just looked at a comparison of Tagalog to Spanish; bigger differences than I would have expected. It seems like a pretty language though. I can't imagine being bilingual based on how I keep track of this one language.

Languages I currently speak fluently: English

Languages I am currently trying to learn to speak fluently: French
Languages I am currently trying to learn to read and write: classical Latin; classical Greek

Languages I would like to eventually try to learn to speak fluently: Arabic; Italian
Languages I would like to eventually try to learn to read and write: Sanskrit; Japanese

If Italian had been offered, it would've been my first choice.

I can't believe that they offer Latin at our school, but not Italian. I think that's just stupid. If they offered both French and Italian, I'd take both. As it is, the only other languages they offer besides French are Spanish and German, neither of which are very appealing to me. (In fact, I downright hate the sound of the Spanish language.)

I would love to learn Latin, even though it is a dead language.
My dads native tongue is Arabic. I don't really like it, not the easiest or most romantic language.
My full name for example: Shaimaa

Huh. Pretty name, IMO.

My dad thinks Latin'd be more useful than Japanese.

Italian lan. is aweshum, just hard to follow a discussion if you don't know too much about it.
The only thing I resent the Italians is having yucky macaroni. It's supposed to be a fucking speciality, but it's just cobbled together. Blah.

Macaroni? Not to profile or anything but I thought their speciality was pizza.
Huh.

I think both are listed as Italian specialties. Pastas and pizzas.

 I don't know, it's always just seemed angry to me.
If I took the time to learn anything more than insults and basics I might like it.
