Why does everyone think it's cool to post in different colors?

After this, I'm never being nice about it again.

I think it's fine for their first or second post, but once they get warned not to and they keep up is when I get ornery.

And when it comes to the rules: We do NOT always talk about what the current topic title may be, we always tend to get off subject. So it's normal. Don't mention 'we got off topic easily' or anything similar. We already know this and are aware that we do so. It's fine. Don't mention it, just go with the flow.
Break the rules much? Some members just have to mention that it's "Weird how this thread went from X to Y"; next time - contribute and go with the flow cause rules say so.

Apparently a lot of people like to post in color.

I'm just used to it because I do that on another forum I go to, and it kind of becomes a habbit after a while.

Maybe there should be an automated message that sends to people when they sign up, saying not to post in color, and a link to the rules section. XD

but the guidlines are already sticky, and it's named "Forum Guidelines. Read ALL of This Before Posting!"

i'm sure there's an addon somewhere that would allow me to de-color all text, but i'm too lazy to search for it.

I know for sure you don't have to read the guidelines (and that's my confession). If you're a normal human being, you know how posting "normally" on any normal forum looks like. No annoying font colours, no smile-attacks, no such things.

unfortunately, it's not the case in reality, we've had a couple of people posting in annoying colours recently, and i see no reason why it'd stop.
