Sure will, I read the rules and I would like to apologize for a couple of these things that I happen to have already done. Sorry, didn't mean to be a pain in the ass.

I'll be sure to not let what people say get to me, I mean, it's the internet, I don't think I will let someone get me down just because they disagree with my opinion.

Thank you guys though for your advice and the link to the rules.

So is it just me, or are alot of people around here pretty anti-punk/emo bands. I gotta admit, after posting the bands I like, I tend to get quite a bit of negative feedback.

hmm, you seem to have taken a turn for the better, welcome aboard.
also, good punk is nothing like emo.
try iron maiden and other nwobhm if you want good music.
if you want punk, i've stopped listening to it ages ago, only proto-punk remains in my usual stuff, stuff like the stooges.

Well, it would seem that makes us enemies, (snipes your face). I do admit, alot of the people that listen to the type of music as myself tend to annoy the living shit out of me. (relizes that if shit were living that it would have killed me a long time ago.)

Me too. I've got that one famous MCR album, The Black Parade, and I do like three or four of the songs on it. It's not so bad.

Mama is my favorite, and really the only one on there that I would call "good."

Mama wrote:Mama, we all go to hell
Mama, we all go to hell
I'm writing this letter and wishing you well
Mama, we all go to hell

Oh well now mama, we're all gonna die
Mama, we're all gonna die
Stop asking me questions, I hate to see you cry
Mama, we're all gonna die

And when we go, don't blame us
Yeah, we'll let the fire just claim us
Yeah, you made us sound so famous
We'll never let you know

And when you go, don't return to me, my love

Mama, we're all full of lies
Mama, we're meant for the flies
And right now they're building a coffin your size
Mama, we're all full of lies

Well mother, what the war did to my legs and to my tongue
You should have raised a baby girl, I should have been a better son
If you can coddle the infection, they can amputate at once
I should have been, I could have been a better son!

And when we go, don't blame us
Yeah, we'll let the fire just claim us
Yeah, you made us sound so famous
We'll never let you know

She said, you ain't no son of mine
For what you've done, they're gonna find
A place for you and just your mind
Your manners when you go

And when you go, don't return to me, my love
That's right

Mama, we all go to hell
Mama, we all go to hell!
It's really quite pleasant, except for the smell!
Mama, we all go to hell

Mama, mama, mama, oh
Mama, mama, mama, oh

And if you would call me your sweetheart, I'd maybe then sing you a song
But there's shit that I've done with this fuck of a gun
You will cry out your eyes all along

We're damned after all
Through fortune and fame we'll fall
And if you can stay, then I'll show you the way
To return from the ashes you call

We'll all carry on, all carry on!
When our brothers in arms are gone
So raise your glass high, for tomorrow we die
And return from the ashes you call

The Sharpest Lives is okay, but riddled with overly emo lines such as "The sun is ashamed to rise and be in love with all of these vampires," and "Drop the dagger and lather the blood on your hands, Romeo." However, it does have some pretty awesome lines mixed in there. "You can watch me corrode like a beast in repose," and "There's a place in the dark where the animals go, you can take off your skin in the cannibal glow," sound pretty damn metal. "The sharpest lives are the deadliest to lead," and "So you can leave like the sane abandoned me," remind me of the style of Black Sabbath.

I occasionally listen to Teenagers because it's catchy, and to Blood because it's funny.

I remember hearing MCR at high school parties and the like before the Black Parade. Their old music was actually kind of original for the genre and barely emo at all. Then that radio friendly clone shit landed.

I don't have a sense of what is "radio friendly" and what isn't, so it's hard for me to dislike something just because it's designed to be popular.

I remembered how much I loved the song Cancer, back when I first heard it. It is the saddest song I've ever heard in my whole life.

I agree that it is one of the saddest songs I've ever heard.

When it comes down to it, for myself, I could care less if a song is on the radio, or if I am the only person out there who likes the music.

If a song made it to the radio then congrats to the people who made it.

I can't stand how some people are like, "well it's on the radio, it's mainstreamed now, i'm not the only one who knows about it, I don't like it anymore"

I could care less where a song is, if it's a good song, it's a good song.

"radio friendly" basically just means "made for idiots". of course, not all songs that are on the radio are bad. just most.

It's not "made for idiots". Radio playlists are chosen out of how many people are listening to the radio when a song is played, and how often a song is requested.
