WRONGWRONGWRONG!
You ever disgrace the name of hardcore like that again, I swear... you sonofabitch.
Emo is the combination of guys who want to look like girls and a lot of crying and sad. Emo subculture was never once TOUCHED by hardcore. Hardcore subculture is all about self-empowerment and sticking together.
Emo subculture is all about self-loathing and being a loner.
Where's the link here? I seem to have lost it.

I have a question for you, Knifey Emo Dolt.
If you're trying to avoid fitting in, which would mean being unique, then why do you classify yourself? Classifying yourself into a group means that you try to conform to that group's standards. In this case, the group is "emo", and the standard is to rebel against the other groups.
Go be a dumbass somewhere else.

dude... seriously, 3/4ths of the people on this board used to be emo, and we've all come into contact with plenty.
check the most common properties of an emo, and you'll find it's really not that far off of the stereotype.
emo, scene, it's a way to fit in with a group, by trying very hard not to fit in with mainstream.
and knifey, your whole account is set pretty much stereotypically, self important, "woe is me i'm in such a bad situation, life hurts", the idea you need to cut, not because you're generally depressed due to fucked up chemicals, but as a fad.
oh, and emo is not "emotional punk"
punk has more dimensions of emotion than emo.
emo music is pretty much all self absorbed, either "ooh it's so tough" or "ooh life sucks, but my girlfriend makes it all great", or "ooh it's so tough, and my girlfriend ditched me for someone more emo".
it's a scream "look at me look at me! i'm different, i'm special, i have it so tough!", a way to fit in, all without any need.
it's fake, a wangst filled phase that most grow out of.
edit:
about the cutting, i understand people that cut for a reason, to drive off other pains, mental or physical, if your mom committed suicide, two sisters and a brother too, another brother got runover, and you're forced into a looney-bin, then fuck yeah i can get it.
if you're in such extreme physical pain, that a pain that you can control can outdrive the original pain, yeah i get it.
in both cases it's a stupid move, but understandable.
cutting because "no one understands me", however, is just bloody stupid.

You really don't get it, do you? True emos don't go around trying to say they are emo, they hide it for fear of being rejected from society. Anyone who says they are emo is just trying to fit in, so if you call yourself emo, your not only hypocritical, but you will instantly be tagged as a wannabe.
And frosty, you got to admit, at least a few emos aren't trying to fit in, but those are the ones who are REAL emos.

Someone said this somewhere...
There are no exceptions. The second you realize you're emo, you are no longer emo. Calling yourself emo is the #1 way to be NOTHING. Especially in my eyes.
I'm part of the 3/4 of this site that used to be emo. I'm dealing with you the same way I wish someone would've dealt with me.
Either die or stop acting like you wanna.
Consciously Emo = Poser
Subconsciously Emo = Emo

Thats because they dont know any better.
Emo is not a new concept. As Azgarth said, we know about it. There is a huge difference between real emos and scene emos. So far you've both given the impression that you are scene emos, though Knife has more than MEF.
I think you could be fine at MD if you tone down your generated images.
We dont like most people who try and give impressions of themselves by swallowing stereotypes whole and going on about their styles constantly.
