Let's be real a second... Perhaps we simply see things differently, but I don't feel the kind of reception here that I'd expect from friends. Y'all strike me as stimulating acquaintances.

If I were to share my difficulties here, all I could expect would be some hollow sympathies and rehearsed advice. I come to MD for some involved conversation in a casual environment... nothing heavier than that.

Mr. Ape emailed me a few times about my situation, and I shared a couple things, and he seemed the receptive sort, but I think that's as far as I'd let on to anyone I've met on MD.

Yeah, I feel the same way in regards to how close I am with the members of these forums. Some I may consider friends in a very liberal definition, none I would consider close.

The way some of you vent on here makes me think you get off on people feeling sorry for you.

Wow, an entire year of not posting. Interesting. Mostly due to having a sporadic connection to the internet at best. At best meaning, a year ago.
