Someone had to know me well enough to get the doublespeak.

What separates us from animals is that we can control our inner instincts and act upon reason rather than gut. Soo....

Actually sitting down and observing folks in public areas has disillusioned me; the overwhelming majority of humans operate solely on instinct and desire. Reason is a shallow and auxiliary system at best, for all it's being used for.

Man is another animal, sometimes better, but oftentimes worse than those that walk on all fours, who, because of his "divine spiritual and intellectual development", has become the most vicious animal of all!

This facade of logic serves only as an excuse to justify the mindless consumption and waste that dominates human behavior.

while that's most probably true, you don't KNOW what goes on in their heads, someone "sitting down and observing" would come across to an observer as someone just sitting.

Man is another animal, sometimes better, but oftentimes worse than those that walk on all fours, who, because of his "divine spiritual and intellectual development", has become the most vicious animal of all!

should have ended with "on all fours", the rest is just bull.

krishh,
you've got singing bacteria? i'd like a video of that.
agree on the sentiment though, but won't happen, nature doesn't work that way.

Someone should get naked and aggravate a lion. Then we would see why without tech, we are NOT at the top of a food chain.

Unless whoever does the aggravating can run like a Kenyan.

dae, part of why we're on top is because we're smart enough to see which battles SHOULDN'T be fought.
we'd climb a tree and throw spears at it.

If it was a panther, that wouldn't help.

Besides, we're not loners, we're pack animals.

Alone, sure, we're fucked.

Put ten guys in a cage with a lion, no problemos.

if it was, it wouldn't. in his example, it wasn't.

and no, we're not loners, but even alone we're quite good enough depending on how well we can turn the situation.

Well, I said we 'can' use logic, not that we 'do.'

I was told by my english teacher senior year that 90% of people in the real world are dominated by what you said, and that some people are downright stupid. But that's the wonder of humanity I guess...

The sheep need shepherds. That's where the intelligent population is.

Fair enough; I'd be willing to wager, though, that a good chunk of people around couldn't be conditioned or shit to use logic / reason / other college words.

Maybe my sample set is unrepresentative, being North Dakota.

much as it usually annoys me to link to xkcd,

most people think they're with GC's 10%, who makes the distinction?

voly, the "intelligent population" isn't performing the role of shepard, most of them are either grudgingly silent or dissenting. those in command, be they intelligent or not, perform the role as shepard.

No, but they should, which was actually my intended direction with that. I should be clearer about these things.

And the distinction can only be made when one proves they aren't in the 90%.
