This reminds me of the thread that inspired me to register at MD, where some new member said they could hear all these voices and were scared of them, and asked for help getting rid of them, only to get the response that a bullet to the head would work magic.

I think as far as role models go, the book Tyler is better than the movie Tyler. But movie Tyler was a better character as far as characters go.

Actually, my friends and I made gel explosives last night out of gas and styrofoam.

closest we came were fireballs from powdered milk.
oh, and i once set a parking space on fire when i was 8 or 10 or something.
aside from the cannon a mate made, that's as close as i went to explosives.

The process is impossibly easy for what we made. We didn't explode it, we just burned it, because we weren't sure how powerful it was, so blowing it up seemed like a bad plan.

Basically, put gasoline in a bucket. Put styrofoam in the gasoline. The styrofoam dissolves and makes a putty. Remove the putty. Drain off the excess gasoline from the putty. Done.

That sounds horrible for the environment and your guys' lungs.

In all reality, driving to my friend's house, driving to the store, the gas station, etc. all probably polluted more than making a total of about 16 fluid ounces of flammable material.
