Please ignore GC's armchair psychology. Also, welcome I hope you were careful when you pierced yourself, it can lead to some nasty infections. Don't use peroxide, it slows the healing process. Saline solution is your friend.

(N.B. my gauges were the only ones I did myself, and once I bought some proper acrylic tapers they were fine, it was just while I was stretching them with multiple bits of thin, crappy plastic that they were a bit awful. As for my facial piercings, I much prefer the trained professional with an autoclave approach)
