Mp3 Playa

Postby S. [Burned] Y. » Wed Apr 12, 2006 12:42 am

I have made a new program, called Mp3 Playa. The program is able to play mp3s, wavs, and mids. Now, I want to know if it is okay to post some of your MD forum names, since I'm doing a shout out sorta thing. No other information will be posted, and a link to MD won't even be posted. So, please post on whether or not your fine with it, just a simple yes or no will do fine. I will wait one day for all of the anwsers.

Image coming soon.

Okay, I wanted the MD names since it would be better then just putting your real names down.

Edit:

It won't have the little lines in it, it's just like that in the VB6 IDE.

I don't know..just to give you people some happiness?

Anyways, it's made from VB6 since I'm good with that. I changed it a little from the picture above, and took off one or two things..here it is. I might make updates of it since it was really easy making it, if I do I'll try to make it play playlists or even avi. or wma. Oh and if you wait for me to get home tomorrow (3 ETZ) I might try to add a minimize thing to it, just so it's not always on the desktop.

Opps, I forgot CLockworkmind...I will add him when I get home (I'm at school). Eh, I probably have to add the .ocxs with the zip. I will send it to a few people to test it to see if it works.

Bug report:
- Closeing the author window from the exit button will result in something like this:
Image
- Closeing forms (windows) will sometimes generate this error:
Image

Other than that it appears to work fine, except from the fact that it takes it quite some time to load a file.

Nice work, it must have been quite some trouble to use the .mp3 codecs, congratulations :)

I took the stupid resize shit out, it bugged me too much. I updated this one a little more. The music codes was really easy, here's a little code of what I did.

Private Sub cmdBrowse_Click()
On Error GoTo error
With CDlg1
.CancelError = True
.DialogTitle = "Browse For MP3 Files"
.Filter = "MP3 Files (*.mp3) |*.mp3; |Wave Files (*.wav) |*.wav; |Midi Files (*.mid) |*.mid"
.ShowOpen
If Len(.FileName) = 0 Then Exit Sub
txtFile.Text = .FileName
Play
Timer1.Enabled = True
End With
error:
End Sub

Anyways, here's the updated version. (135 KB)

Very nice! It's not as good as winamp, but it's a start :P
I don't see any bugs or errors, it's just working fine.
I'm looking forward on version 2 :D

@Darky, I figured that would happen. Well, I uploaded a zip with the missing files in it, hopefully it works after you put them in the right spot.

So basicaly all you do is ask it to open the file and it loades the codecs automaticly? I'm not familiar with basic so I'm a bit confused :?

Yep pretty much, it makes things a lot easier to too. There are tons of more codes in the program that helps define the pitch and speed of it, but those are too big to post. I'm at school again, and when I get home I'll see what else I can put into it. Oh, and yes, I relize that when you start 1.1 it's not on the taskbar as a program running, I'm not sure why it did that but I believe it has to do with something about the SysTray.

Maybe, once I have no life at all and have nothing left, then I will.

Er, I was thinking of just trying to make it so it plays a playlist.

I have a little 'problem':
When you close the program, it still shows in the systray and then you will have to go with your mouse over it to let it disappear..
I had that problem too with limewire(wich I don't use anymore).
Is it the program or my comp???
