Windows 7 early release (against Google Chrome OS)

Postby Palmer » Tue Aug 11, 2009 10:03 pm

Anyone else heard about this yet??
Apparently Microsoft is planning to release the official (non-beta) version of Windows 7 Operating System earlier, and "slash price in war against Google Chrome" due to Google Chrome OS's new plans.
According to some sources, it is supposed to be out about three months earlier, or, like one of these following link says, maybe even before the end of this summer.

one is from january, the other is from the dailymail.

microsoft has recently acknowledged linux (debian and derivatives like ubuntu mostly iirc) as competitor, it does NOT and SHOULDN'T see chrome OS as a big competitor.
for one, it's not out yet.
second, chrome OS WON'T be used for desktop strength computers generally, which is where microsoft's biggest spearpoin tis with windows.
third, it's not going to be adopted like mad, there's going to have to be a whole new slew of netbooks for chrome to be used, and then they have to become popular.
