Browser Benchmarks

This runs through various tests, and scores you based on the browser performance.

All of these are from my computer running x64 architecture.

According to this, Safari 4 <beta> is best.

Chrome came in second.

Firefox in third. (My Firefox lowest made it to the internet explorer's highest recorded on that site).

IE-8, being last.

I didn't try Opera on here because I didn't feel like installing 5 browsers at once.
That one was behind Firefox and ahead of Internet-Explorer 8, Based off of other user's statistics, though.

Feel free to contribute and post your own.
(Use the print-screen A.K.A. the SysRq button [top-right corner of your keyboard] to take screen screen-shot and paste it in "Paint"... just in case someone didn't know for some reason). "

Maybe people will have more variety here..?

I prefer firefox because I'm stubborn and don't like changing browsers, lol.

Apparently Google Chrome and Safari browser share the same webkit.
:?: :?: :?: :?:
I read this somewhere.
Maybe that has something to do with them being the fastest! =]

Completely off-topic, but why do you only post in VG and Computers?

I like computers and I never really got around to posting in other areas... I guess... =/

Except that you're stubborn as all hell and don't let things go, you're alright. You should browse elsewhere. You post in two of the most inactive places in the entire forum.

Eh... go figure... I happen to like things where no one else posts...
I will eventually get around to it though...
but thanks- I think. :D

Apparently Google Chrome and Safari browser share the same webkit.

close, but not quite. chrome's version is a heavily modified one.
based on the one in safari though.

also, futuremark stuff is nice an all, but way too theoretical.
once in a while speed tests come out of the newest versions, delay between opening a certain amount of starts, starting the browser both cold and not, things like that. THOSE are useful.

opera's one of my favourite browsers, it's fairly fast, and is/was/is pretty innovative.
i don't use it as main browser though, because A: it can't do some things i can do with certain Fx addons (tab mix plus and the like), and B: they have been complete idiots and dicks in the whole "browser on windows" thing.

I sort of like Opera.
it used to be my favorite, but the Opera for Linux just plain sucks.
On my computer / distro anyways. =/

How is "Social Networking" a benchmark category of its own? Anyways, I'll try it out as well.

When I took the test (Firefox 1678), the social networking aspect was the use of javascript for practically everything and handling data.

My FF is at 93. It did say that it will be higher if you haven't fucked with your preferences, which I do. A lot. I fucking love widgets.
