I use iTunes, merely because there are about twenty people out there with iPods synced to my library. I also have massive amounts of video stored on it. I don't mind that it doesn't support FLAC since I just convert it over. And size isn't an issue because the only time I utilize music and anything else on my computer is to surf the internet, which it does not interfere with.

EDIT I haven't used winamp in seven years or so, but I kind of liked it then. But iTunes was starting up around the same time and it was easier to organize a large music library with it than winamp at the time. Plus, I needed iPod compatibility.

you DO know you can use ipods on your computer without syncing to itunes, right? hell, you can choose between "browse like new disc" and "sync" options.

and yeah, ages ago, winamp was brilliant. then came winamp3 which was utter shite. winamp 5 was a bit better, but it's still far from ideal.

j river or mediamonkey's or customized foobar's library > itunes library.

I do. But six years ago that was so much more of a pain in the ass. But as my post mentions, I now use iTunes out of habit more than anything else. Plus, I've still got a few purchases on there from when I couldn't find something I wanted anywhere else.

Darky/Eschatos got me to try it a few years back, but I wasn't a big fan. And I shouldn't have said rare. Last time I made a purchase was for a band that was brand new and had released an EP on iTunes. They aren't big enough to be found on any torrents. That's why I felt the need to make a purchase.

We don't, but he was a douche, and he fell for girls like elephants would tend to fall from airplanes.
