Thats the spirit! I've never seen anything in being patriotic, and trust me, I'm not saying that to be a rebel. I live on a big rock in the ocean, I don't need to love the piece of dirt or the administration that runs it. We have a colorful flag though.

I hate fucking patriotism. I like Bill Hick's idea. Put a picture of your parents fucking on the flag. Then let's see some patriotism. Because that is all nationality is. I have patriotism because of the rich history of my country that I respect. The person who signed the Decleration of Independance is still a hero in mind. Not because of the Decleration, but because of his genius, and the genius of others like him during the Revolutionary War.

My vote for the best place to live is Sweden.

I have pride in my ancestory and my current residence. I have Roman/Danish/Cherokee background and Texas presence.

The thought of patriotism is something that comes from yourself, not from others. You gotta know ehre you came from and how you get where you are, and then wher eyou may one day be going.

You also have a feeling of presence in your home. When I vacation out-of-state or out-of-country, I have a feeling of being outside myself. When I return to texas, I can feel the warmth in the air that only matches my home.

Patriotism stems from many things, but not from thinking you're better than others, nor following behind the leader of your current residance.

I think everyone I've literally.. encountered in person/online, from the US or another country.. wish to go to Canada because of the bullshit going on.
I think almost everyone wishes to go to Canada.. if those people were smart enough, they'd bomb canada. knowing the US citizens will be scared and want to move..theyd go for Canada. oh yes.

However I personally dislike patriotism, at least the advanced forms, eg:
USA - All this flag waving, overtly-proud-being about the country and acting as if they fucking invented freedom and liberty.
France - Being so completely childish about not letting any english words into their french vocabulary.
Germany & Austria - Right winged parties. Which you can find in all other countries as well though.
Patriotism leads to Nationalism. And we've all seen where Nationalism has led.

WOOT we bombed the sand off Iraq. the clostest thing to patritoism i have is taking advantage of us -o- a's "freedoms" and standing well falling asleep well the school says the pledg of alegence to o "god" and a peice o cloth that represents our nation. I wish they did take god out of it just because some students are atheist and dont beleave in any god.
