@Anarch: you can come across as pretty arrogant sometimes for a guy who apparently has no self esteem.

I log in every day wondering what asinine bull you're going to spew, and at who. I wonder if I'm going to feel obliged to join in and disagree, even though it will do no good, because you simply refuse to listen and absorb information.l

Seconded. Except for the SoSZ's part, I've never visited there.
I wouldn't quite say I'm done altogether, I think I might just go for a wander until everyone's pettiness blows over.

Oh Amy , ya go look at SoSZ ... lol. Ya that is a real cool forum. :)

Dot why are the words "most likely" so hard for you to understand. I already know why they are for Darky. It means it will probably never be proven one way or the other unless some further letters are found.

And yes Darky at that time it was extremely hard for women scientists to get any where. That should be obvious to even you.

Much of history is not the truth but simply written to say what men want it to say. Look at how long people were taught Columbus discovered America .. just one small example.

That wasn't sexism though. That was just ignorance of the fact that the Vikings and Basques had been here before. Even though the Vikings and Basques didn't even know they'd been here...

Fuck Columbus and the damn ship he came in on.

What the fuck? When were the fucking basques here?

It's thought that the Basque fishing ships frequently went as far as New England in search of the best fishing grounds.

I see no such claims in the Wikipedia article on basque history. The closest thing I found was this.

Basques serving under the Spanish flag became renowned sailors. Many Basque sailors on Spanish ships were among the first Europeans to reach North America. A great many early European settlers in Canada and the United States were of Basque origin [citation needed].

In the other direction, Christopher Columbus never set foot in what is now the US.

I didn't intend to write it as a sexist statement. I should have used the word "mankind ". But on a realistic note our country and most of the world were extremely sexist at that time. I mean women didn't get the right to vote till..when .. about 1920 ?

I often wonder how much of the history we read is nothing but a fairy tale?

I really enjoy the fact that modern science is able to set some records straight.

Quick, AUG, edit Wikipedia to support your point and then relink it back here. There is a reason that Wikipedia isn't exactly the authority on anything, you know.

Aug you might be surprised how much modern science is proving the bible true. You should have watched the video I posted... it was really good especially from a scientific point of view.

Who really discovered America? No one can prove it ... again there is no "smoking gun". Yet

Reasons never to leave Astica alone with scissors when she is procrastinating writing an essay:

Thats the sort of unfinished version. I was talking to someone on IM when I was all like "brb shaving some hair" so I had to take a pic, I've since tidied up the short parts a little and shaved a centimetre or so downward. On a related note, OW FUCKING DISPOSABLE RAZOR BURN. I quickly learned to stick with the scissors and fine snipping.

*sigh* at this rate, my hair is never growing back.
