For some reason I started listening to Jimi Hendrix rather much lately. Looking forward to the link.

Also, yeah I know that this would fit better in the music section but it's just a matter of posts until this thread gets derailed anyways.

jimi hendrix is/was/is awesome.
i still think it' s a bloody shame he didn' t live a bit longer so he could play with emerson, lake & palmer.
they had it planned already, forming a sort of superband, named HELP (hendrix, emerson, lake, and palmer).

i also like the covers of hendrix's stuff done by paul gilbert, but hendrix' original work is clearly much better.
still whip out the woodstock vid i have here somewhere, great stuff.

link' s posted, btw.

Isn't this more of a music thread type dealio? That aside, Hendrix is, indeed, the man.

The government is the man. THE MAN!
lame attempt at derailing this subject.

I generally read all of the posts on a page before posting. In case an edit has been made, or someone has posted something new, etc.

Saves making an ass of myself. :P

It's a good thing I have class and the subsequent ability to admit fault with dignity.

Randumb Fact: Did you know Purple Haze, one of Jimi Hendrix's most popular songs, was one of his least favorite to play? More than the music from his albums, he preffered jamming out in jazz clubs, and hated fame for the fact that it stripped him of so much individuality derived toward his musical inclinations.

Yah. The nutcracker suite was also Tchaikovsky's least favourite and most famous.

It's not uncommon that musicians like their most loved songs the least.
I've heard the same from a few local bands in the area.

If you really thought I'd get pissed, you don't know shit about me.

Yeah, it's getting less and less fun to play the song my band is known for.

I don't need any more circles of hell. I have enough already.

That's a little lame.

It'd be silly for me to be expected to know you at all, don'tcha think?

I'm really trying not to. He just keeps assuming I'll get pissed about stuff he says.

It's hard for me to keep this up when you systematically fail to realize when I'm joking.

Or maybe you're joking. I'm too old for this shit.

P.S. hendrix is way more overrated than dimebag ever was. wonder why voly never said anything here? oh that's right.. because he has been dead longer, he is more of a sacred cow.

Overrated¿ I don't think so. I think he was one of the great innovators of guitar out of that era. You can't think of someone before him that had a similar style.
