If you don't know GOD, don't make stupid remarks!!!!!!
A United States Marine was taking some college courses
between assignments. He had completed 10 missions in Iraq
and Afghanistan . One of the courses had a professor who
was an avowed atheist, and a member of the ACLU.

One day the professor shocked the class when he came in.
He looked to the ceiling and flatly stated, "GOD, if you are real, then
I want you to knock me off this platform... I'll give you exactly 15 min."
The lecture room fell silent. You could hear a pin drop. Ten minutes
went by and the professor proclaimed, "Here I am GOD, I'm still waiting."

It got down to the last couple of minutes when the Marine got
out of his chair, went up to the professor, and cold-cocked him;
knocking him off the platform. The professor was out cold.

The Marine went back to his seat and sat there, silently.
The other students were shocked and stunned, and sat there
looking on in silence. The professor eventually came to,
noticeably shaken, looked at the Marine and asked,
"What in the world is the matter with you? Why did you do that?"

The Marine calmly replied,
"GOD was too busy today protecting America's
soldiers who are protecting your right to say stupid
stuff and act like an idiot. So He sent me."

The classroom erupted in cheers!

And then AUG came and arrested him. The end.

I kinda get the meaning of it. If you pray for couraeg, God gives you an opportunity to be courageous. If you ask for his existence, he breaks your face.

Speaking of questioning God and such, Jehovah's witnesses woke me up on my day off the other day, and talked about how, as a cat person, if I see a cat getting harmed, it's exactly the same as injustice in the world, and something something, here's a pamphlet that proves there's a God.
I'm too polite to tell them to bugger off, same with Telemarketers.

I believe ERQ's comment came first. Gonna call her a bitch?

No. Just because the story was obviously make-believe, and the first line was especially stupid?

I'm pretty sure that whole post was a forward, and the first line was probably part of it, put in place by someone who wanted to avoid people like you trolling their little sliver of the internet.

You essentially said that people of all faiths that involve a God are incapable of making any kind of intelligent remark.

Well, the phrase "to know God" has a variety of meanings. I just assumed you were using the same meaning that ERQ was, since you were using it as a reference.

Indeed. Isn't part of the whole religious experience tolerance?

That story is almost certainly fictitious. However, if I were the teacher, I would have immediately banned that student from my classroom and reported his behavior to the college. I would not have sat there asking him why he did it, either.

god doesn't play dice.

and you people took this story way too seriously. it's just a cool fucking concept that's fun to think about and contemplate, not a scientific theory that's supposed to be taken seriously.

So, because god doesn't play dice. He created you < to argue if he exists and you > to argue that he does. What about the people who believe he does and doent exist, what is the point of having them? Are those people jewish?

"sorta funny" is an overestimate, i'm sorry to tell you.

Yeah, agreed. It was slightly witty with zero humor.

I imagined myself saying it with an emphasis on the "sorta", raising pitch in an apologetic tone as if to imply "yes I know it wasn't but let's all pretend it was for sake of my beleaguered sense of worth".

I'm so much more fun in person.
