Man.

Postby Yangire » Wed Mar 27, 2013 4:51 pm

I've been working at Walmart for, like, the past month, and this shit is fucking horrible. It's not even the customers; they're cool, but, I'm overnight stocking, and the management makes me want to put a bullet through my skull. All these time limits through the night, but they'll bring stuff out after everything is supposed to be worked, then jump on my dick about, "You're not moving fast enough. Maybe you should be a cashier." I'd actually be cool with that, if, y'know, they intended to go through it. It's been nearly a week, and I'm still unloading boxes. Like, man, if you're gonna ride me for not moving quickly, how about you go ahead and train me as a cashier? I've been waiting for them to fire me, because if I quit, I can't get dat unemployment. In the meantime, filling out all the applications. All of them. Worst first job ever.

0/10, would not recommend.

This was basically me bitching about this shit ass job, oops.

The income of most Wal Mart workers falls below the US guidelines for poverty ...

Just food for thought.....

Not surprised. Maybe it's just the particular one I'm working at, but they don't give you overtime. If you work over forty hours, they expect you to take them off, whether it be by just not coming in for the rest of the week, or by going on the computer and manually removing them. But, then they'll schedule you for over forty hours a week, and get pissy if you say you can't come in. Basically, they want us to work without paying us.

I mean, I'm making about a dollar above minimum wage, which is better than I expected, but, for the way they work us (like slaves), it sure as hell isn't worth it. I'm there from 10 PM to 7 AM. 8.45/hour for those hours is not cute.

Anywhere else to make money. In this world.

Nowhere.

Nowhere else.

Huh.

Actually, I had an interview with Mercedes, but I was like, "NAH MAN DAS TOO FAR. WALMART IS WALKING DISTANCE."

I deserve this, really.

I worked as a newspaper delivery person last year. I enjoyed it. Planning on doing it again this summer.

I am well acquainted with someone who used to work as a Walmart overnight stocker. I have been educated to its suffering. *hug*

My first job was at a car wash entirely populated (including management) by ex-convicts and drug addicts, along with practicing convicts and drug addicts. Making $7/hr was enough to keep me working for two weeks before I decided that coming home every day soaking wet and smelling of mildew wasn't worth it.

Elen .. is that just a part time summer job from school? Can you make decent money?

Oh gosh ... if someone doesn't quote my question he will not see it ... Elen grow up pleezzz.
