Don't.

It's a mistake.

Its not for everyone. Just because it may not be for you doesn't make it a mistake.

Oh god, really? I get the Anti-SJW MRA sentiment, but do you really think its as black and white as that? If that's the case then if you're going to be swayed by a movement that easily then you're no better than the people you crusade against.

If its not the Anti-SJW/MRA bent, then maybe you should just grow up and realize that your reality may not reflect everyone else's.

Holy shit, dude, I have to apologize for entirely failing to communicate my genuine lack of zeal on this topic. I'm not that myopic, rest assured.

My capacity for empathy and intimacy has ever been lacking and insubstantial. I cannot imagine what kind of person would be compatible with me for long term togetherness. Setting that aside, even, I do not feel the gravity of the purpose of marriage for the contemporary person. If the attraction is stable and lasting, what good does the document do?

In America there are certain rights and privileges that can be granted to Married couples. Me and my wife have been together in some capacity for the last 9 years, almost 10 come December. We didn't marry until December of last year. It was purely for practical reasons I had gotten married, not religious or romantic ones. We got married at a court house in front of a Judge. We did have family/friend in attendance, but mostly because they insisted on being there (and dat free stuff/cash that comes with it ain't something a smart person would pass up).

So there is my reason. I hope that is sufficient to help bring you understanding of why I got married.

I wish that marriage didn't carry all the sentimental weight that it does. I feel like practical reasons are the only good reasons to get married. Wanting to own a house and a bank account etc together, or live in the same country, or have joint custody of children etc. Of course, you can do all these things anyway, so I guess marriage is just a convenient way to sign it all off at once.
People who get married because it's romantic, when they're not actually ready for all the legal implications and practical responsibility of marriage, tend to be in for a bad time.

EDIT: I'd forgotten how hilariously silly/terrible my signature was.
