I got Flash MX 2004 today and tried it for a 1/2 hour now and i have some questions that I hope that someone could answer. The only anime experience that I have is from Jasc Animation Shop. The questions may sound stupid, but anyway...
1. What's a layer? Is it background?
2. What is timeline? (It's probably not only to see how long the animation lasts?)
3. Do you anime like in Jasc Ani. Shop, by putting in frames, if not, how?
4. I'm not a patient person, so is it any point to read "How do I?" and the help files?
Whoever you are, thanks you really much for answering...
Just got Flash MX 2004...

Well, the only way I think you could be taught how to animate in Flash and not get bored is if you watch video tutorials.
Search the web to find video tutorials that tell the very basics of Flash, the only reason im not giving direct links is because I dont know of any off0hand.
I'm not sure if this website tells the basics, but I know once you know enough of the terminology used for flash, you can then learn how to animate characters in flash through these awesome vids here at this site: www.keyframer.com great stuff, thats where im learning my basics from, and i suck at flash, but these video tutorials are really good.
so, go check em out. Hope you do good.

a layer is a place to put something that you want to happen behind something else. the timeline is how you add frames and such. you animate by adding frames and keyframes (ketframes make a change in what is happening). And i like tutorials an www.flashkit.com and other sites better than the help section of flash mx.
this is witty.
