Microsoft Sparkle

Postby Schnabel von Rom » Fri Aug 26, 2005 4:58 pm

I've just read this article about that Microsoft is devoloping somekind of animation software called MS Sparkle similar to Flash, which they think could be a good opponent. I dislike the fact that they use almost the same name, sparkle and flash are quite similar. I didn't read the whole text though, wonder which programming language they'll use. I'll stick to Flash.

to be honest I don't give Microsoft a chance.

I think sparkle will be loved be the designer community about as much as visual studio is liked by coders.

Yeah, maybe people that are just as n00b as me will start with Sparkle because it probably gonna be much easier, but I don't think it will be a success for professional users. I won't use Sparkle, I've just started with Flash and intend to continue using it, those Microsoft programs piss me off daily.

Speaking of VB, I've got MS Visual Studio 6 Enterprise edition, never understood how to use it. I once made a mouse coordinator and gave up.

I still wonder which Script language they will use, wouldn't it be stupid to make a new language, which no one understood?

More expensive iPods...

I think this would be their smallest problems. actionscript had been loosely based on java... java is loosely based on C...
Actually every modern coding language of the 3rd generation is somewhat based on C. Therefore they are all pretty similar.

But I think that since Flash is already such a wide spread standard, sparkle wont stand a chance. other than that the new upcoming Flash 8 is more powerful than ever...

Linux > MS for servers

MS > Linux for program compatibility.
