video games based off an Anime suck

Why is it that video games based off an Anime suck? I've played lots of video games based off an Anime series and these types of games suck. The only ones I like are mostly Pokemon games (which never get old for me). Usually the game play is in 2D and childish, boring, sometimes messes up the storyline from the Anime, kind of like making a Manga to Anime. BTW I love Anime but games based off them suck so why?

Because slapping an iconic character's face on any old platformer instantly makes it marketable, and no actual effort needs to be put into it.
