Fear Factory
Children of Bodom
Big Dumb Face
Lamb of God
Dillinger Escape Plan
And yes Slipknot... just because they're "pop metal" doesnt mean they suck...

I heard Dog Fashion Disco on XM the other day. Awesome shit. :)

I'd also like to go on record as saying that Six Feet Under sucks balls. How the fuck did they get popular?

Slipknot are comercial and make no sense because they don't really try to say anything.

most of the bands in the world don't have a message and make music for music's sake, you can't call them commercial for that(although slipknot probably is).

Bands like Slipknot and Disturbed are kind of what a lot of people listen to when they are just starting to get into metal.
Slipknot is not real metal. Slipknot is a phase.

the riffs and rhythms are too simple. people only mistake them for metal because they're loud and noisy. although, i guess the third album is debatable, but that sucks ass anyway.

hmm, motley crue(not crew, look it up, don't correct me about the dots, i know) is indeed 80's, but it's hair metal, a specialised type of metal, akin to heavy metal.
mostly about "highschool" subjects, chicks, cars, stuff like that, very popular back then.
i hear hollywood was full of bands like that(fun fact, did you know slash from GnR/slash's snakepit/VR got his trademark tophat from nikki sixx?).

twisted sister, david lee roth, it's the stuff that got me into music in the first place.
