The Flaming Lips

Postby Elen Sila » Sat Jun 14, 2008 9:20 am

Who knows about them, and what do you know?

(Oh, and by the way, to give you some idea of the true degree of awesome a Flaming Lips concert exudes, allow me to give you a demonstration in the form of a comic from XKCD.)

The least you could do is post some.

And a more upbeat song if you can't be arsed to sit through a slow one.

And one of their older songs. It's also the most misinterpreted.

It's taken by some weird waste-of-space site, just like 50 billion other various urls.

The Wizard Turns On

The Gash (kind of a stupid video, and really only about half of the song, but it's the best I could find )

The W.A.N.D. (of course, everyone knows this song)

Who?

No, I'm serious. Who is "Satanacia"?

Even with the "no, I'm serious" I am unsure of how serious you are.

Esch might have been away. She was a girl from the Philippines whom no one expected to last more than a week, but then she somehow blended in in her own weird way and we grew to like her. Shes like a more successful version of Sunshine and Rainboo. Less annoying, more happy. Bit more cynical perhaps.

I don't recall. What'd she leave for?

I miss Malakide. She taught me how to properly take a girl's virginity when I was 14.

I didn't really know or care much about Satanacia.

But every time Esch or one of the other senior members bemoaned Syn's parting as the end of some sort of golden age of Mindistortion, I couldn't help but miss her too, even though I wasn't around when she was.

I never did no such thing. There was never a golden age of MD. In fact I imagine it's more active now than it ever was, the only difference now and then is that then it was easier to follow who a person was and we were a closer community.

It doesn't feel like that anymore to me, which is what I lament. I can't even follow who most people are.

I use the fact that I can't follow who most people are as a reminder of how fluid this place is, and how awesome my surf board is.

esch, i used to be unable to follow who's who, these days it's rather easy though.
by now i've stereotyped every single one of you guys. not what i interact with, but it does make recognition easier.

I just know who everyone is, except the really new people who I consider to all be the same person.

I guess I came back at the perfect time, because I pretty much know all the current users.
