Gorgoroth & Cradle of Filth

Gorgoroth had 2 "cruficied" naked women and men on their stage that just hung out (ha ha ha) for the entire show.

Cradle of Filth had a 3.5m (about 11.5ft) grim reaper - which did some headbanging during one of their songs.

Black Metal can be rather awesome sometimes... oh yesss.

You know......

Nevermind......
Is there a promised land
Or am I on the journey going to nowhere?
Are the streets paved with gold
Or am I slipping on the mold that slowly grows there?

And then when bands like Disturbed or 5FDP come out on stage and it's just them without bothering to put in props and shows, it's still not "real metal".

There are some thing I'll never understand.

edit: Actually that's not fully true. Most the times David comes out on a gurney in psycho-uniform. But then he takes it off and it's just the band.

Actually I'm usually hardly able to take these sort of props serious.

The crucified folks were funny in a way, but imo a rather interesting "prop".

The grim reaper, well... that's a different story. It was sort of cool, but more in the trashy, awkward, funny sort of way (sort of like David Hasselhof)

The straight jacket of the Disturbed singer just seemed awkward to me... as well as this whole "let you're anger flow through me" thing he pulled...

Actually I wasn't really referring to you, heh.

But what do you mean by "let you're anger flow through me"?

stage props have been a staple in metal for ages, whether they're cool these days has little to do with how metal they are.

those crucified girls must either have a good setup, or be really strong, hanging like that can't be easy.

During one of their shows he asked the audience to "channel their anger and let it flow throw thim so he can release it in their songs". Kinda like that. Seemed dumb to me, but that's just personal taste.

I agree on that. They use a lot of props, but they use them well.

Yeah, that does sound dumb. But he didn't do it when I saw them. Oh well, guess they can't all be winners.

How long did the show last? I saw them live in November and the whole thing was over after an hour. They were the headliners and the supporting was cancelled.

Cradle isn't black metal.

My guess the anger was 70% angst.

About an hour as well, yes. I've heard that usually the cruficied ones are covered in blood?

HellBilly wrote:Cradle isn't black metal.

Now that's just genre nit-picking.

The other 30% was drunken bawling.

I think you're confusing Draiman with Corey Taylor.

Cradle is what i like to call
Intro to black metal...
If that makes sense?
Basicly they sound the same, but not completely the same.

God damn I'm missing out on a bunch of good shit. I need to get off my ass, make some money and go see some concerts. (Sadly I can't even drive yet.)
Yay! My signature sucks!
