Is it just me, or is basically all techno outside Daft Punk and maybe The Chemical Brothers totally fucking obscure and homogeneous? All these artist's names start with DJ and they're all the same to me.

depends what you mean. "techno" is a bullshit term that doesn't really mean anything. if you're referring to electronic music in general, there are many different genres, daft punk and chemical brothers shouldn't be mentioned together as being the same "genre", they are completely different. saying that, though, i couldn't tell you what they are. i'm basically a noob to anything except industrial (and maybe ambient) when it comes to electronic music.

I'd only put them together in the sense that Jungle Rot and Metallica are both "metal"; yes I totally agree, though.
Are all these DJs basically the same? I mean... Every so often I find an electronic artist that stands out (Pendulum, anyone?), but all in all this raver stuff seems pretty samey.

i tend to avoid any artist with the prefix "DJ", and i always have. so i can't really comment.

DJ Tiesto is one of the better "DJ"'s.

i disagree, i live Austin Texas, which is one of the music capitals in the world
(not really)
and the local talent down here sucks ass, now idk about where you live.
i prefer overseas.
like, E-maxx an Australian, cloud N0.9 a European group, Basshunter a german (i think)
all very good in my opinion

You seriously live in Austin? That's about 20 miles from me.

Too bad I hate you.

"Local talent down here sucks ass"
Maybe in Techno, but apart from that Austin has been fueling musical growth in modern industry even before your mom was wearing diapers.

"Which is one of the music capitals of the world (not really)"
One of the oldest and still used of City of Austin slogans is "The Live Music Capital of the World". Now, it's "not really" a music capital, but nothing "really" is. They're all either slogans or nicknames, never an official title.

So what Middle School do you go to?

Obviously you do have time otherwise you wouldn't have answered.

But anyway. Which High School?

Pure curiosity. I go by there all the time to hold signs for my advertising job. Rich folk territory, although better than Westlake.

A weekend one where I hold a sign for anywhere between four to eight hours, on the side of the road, pointing toward whats usually houses for sale in upscale neighborhoods.
