If it's not too much to ask, how interested in music are you and what instrument(s) do you play?

I play the drums/vocals.
I can only play a few songs so far, but I am practicing as much as I can.
My vocal range is from bass two to tenor two.

I enjoy every genre of music: Rock, Metal, Grunge, Punk, Indie, Classic, Hip-Hop, Blue Grass, Country (only on occasion) and I can tolerate rap.

Favorite bands: Death Cab For Cutie, Hollywood Undead, The Gorillaz, Bright Eyes, Stone Sour/Slipknot, Aerosmith, Megadeth and S.O.A.D.

Favorite Song: Soul Meets Body (it's the most soothing to me). :)

I play a wee bit of drums, guitar, and synth. I am better at bass than those, and (I'm told) I'm better at vocals than anything else.

Problem being that a lot of people aren't into hardcore punk so it's hard to get anywhere when all my skill is based around the genre (since I've never tried to play anything else). I am into other genres, I just don't play them. I like Rock, Metal, Grunge, good pop punk, and intense classical. I also like some acoustic music (guitar instrumentals and the like).

A male that listens to Death Cab for Cutie. That is truly a first for me.

life would not be worth living if it weren't for music.

i currently do not play an instrument. i used to play guitar and i keep saying i'm going to pick it back up.. but i never do. i also have a drum machine that i used to mess around with as well, but that's not really an instrument.

Drums. I want to learn Violin as well, but I can't afford one. I've been saving most of this year, but I'm nowhere near having enough yet.

I listen to a lot of genres of music, and like it a lot, especially as a complement to something else, like games or film. Music connected with things, be it a film or a memory or a place, is the best.

Yes, I am a male who listens to Death Cab For Cutie. And I'm not ashamed by it, I enjoy their music. Like I said, it's soothing to me.

I'm honestly surprised so many people on here play the drums. I've only known two other people to play the drums, and it seems like almost everyone who's posted plays them at least a little.

I'm starting to love it here... :D

And why can't you drummers live near me, my friends and I wanna garage band but can't find a goddamn drummer.

Well, I honestly don't know if giving out the exact location is appropriate right now, but I do live in the eastern portion of the U.S. in case anyone was curious.
I'm thinking about placing another topic for more personnal information (age, ethnicity, religion... then again, maybe not).

There's opinion involved when saying what kind of music one likes. Set Your Goals is good pop punk. Sum 41 is not.

And by "intense classical" I mean basically any classical music that sounds angry as opposed to sad, happy, or anything patriotic.

Oh, Fortuna is a good song-example.

EDIT: Also nu-classical. (See EPICA).

Apathy isn't cool if you announce you're apathetic.

I've learned (just within the first few hours of joining), apathy is NEVER a good thing on MD. It's scary when you show it... nothing good comes from it.

@ Topic, I play the keyboard. Infrequently, but still.

Well, most of the time then. It's most of the time not a good thing to use apathy as a defense mechanism on MD.

And that's interesting. I don't know many people who play the synthesizer/piano, except my good friend Jeremy (Sha, you know who).

Him and I would play duets on the piano all the time during this summer.

Point conceded.

Apathy is a shitty defense mechanism everywhere. It always comes off juvenile and stand-offish. With a slight dose of sulky.

I wasn't even BEING apathetic. I was being honest. It came off as apathy, so whatever.

I play keyboard badly. That's about it for me. I'm trying to learn guitar. . .But EVERYONE knows how to play.

I went to the James Burton guitar festival, and there was this violinist there who was AMAZING. I wanna try that out. I just gotta save up money for a violin. And beginners classes. Cause I suck at sticking to something unless it's costing me money.
I've got one hand in my pocket
