Mechanize - Fear Factory

Even though it is my favorite band, I do think Burton Bell must be a supreme douche to pull the shit he did. And Dino a bitch for letting him do it and coming back just as his own band was getting fans and media attention.

But fuck it, I can still like the music. And the direction they went with this album is a lot more in line with Demanufacture and Obsolete than Transgression and their epic fail of a band Arkaea. The addition of the bassist and drummer from Strapping Young Lad does help, especially filling the potentially wrenching gap caused by having Herrera out of the picture.

My personal favorites on the album are 'Fear Campaign', 'Oxidizer', and 'Final Exit'.
Is there a promised land
Or am I on the journey going to nowhere?
Are the streets paved with gold
Or am I slipping on the mold that slowly grows there?

i gave this album a try for the SYL connection, but the vocals kill it for me. shame.
