My parents have finally let me play guitar...

Postby julairria » Fri Aug 27, 2010 2:11 am

Alas, it has finally happened. I've been stuck with piano forever and I've been wanting to play guitar since I was 10.
so do i start with acoustic or electric?
and does anyone know a good guitar for an absolute beginner like myself?
Canadian, EH?

Start with acoustic, it makes electric easier later. Basically anything you can find that will stay in tune with a good sound is a decent guitar for a beginner. Nothing fancy required if you can't play anything fancy, yet.

Everyone wants to play the guitar. Play something awesome like the fiddle or banjo.

My dad plays the banjo.

I swear he's a Stanford grad.
I can't decide which one of us will leave here alive
Your fingers breaking as I place them over mine
The only thing I need is time
To change your mind, I said

We have a pipes and drums section at work for parades. You can actually learn to play the bagpipes and or various types of drums, and still say you are defending your country.
For those that fight for it, life has a flavour that the sheltered will never know.

yep when i first started playing guitar, it was an acoustic.
and if your fingers can survive an acoustic...

as for brands, my dad had a yamaha acoustic which he let me use, and then i got a fender starter kit later for a birthday (included cords, a puny amp, and obviously a fender guitar), those go for about a hundred bucks.
