I am resurrecting this thread. Know why? Because necroing this thread isn't very sinful.

@Topic: Boondock Saints is my favorite movie, by the way.

Ah, Wristcutters is a fantastic film. =) Another good one is Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind... though now I've sat here for a couple of minutes trying to think of some films to list I've realised that I don't really watch films anymore, or have many favourites. I still need to watch Trainspotting at some point..

@ topic: The Dark Knight

And yes i know it was an extremely hyped up movie whenever it came out, since it was followed by Heath's death. But honestly, that movie was amazing and would have been without all of the hype. It rocked.

Double agree. I put up with an ex I couldn't stand so I could go see that movie. My parents really liked the guy, and they're really picky about who I leave the house with. So I used him, and enjoyed the movie most thourghally.. . .And I know that's a misspell, but I'm lazy.

The movie was very happy-making though. I liked it mostly cause of the fact that you could get caught up in it, even though it was a long movie. I completely lost track of time.

Ditto'd also. I was actually surprised that there was no discussion about the dark knight film here, but i kinda liked the fact no-one here was raving about it, seeing as it was so stupendously popular back in the summer. Also, prepare for the cliché; if you didn't see it on le big screen, you did miss out. It certainly did it's job of being a successful blockbuster. I was also surprised* that they managed to mix in some intelligent twists and engaged the audience on a mental level, what with the moral's and such**

*Not due to the length, but I was expecting a straight forward adaptation, and it went beyond that.

**... might expand on that later

Not really a defense. I thought we were actually dating, thought that it was a relationship. Then I find out from mutual friends that he was just using me to get laid before he went to Iraq.

And it wasn't even good sex. :(

Coulda, shoulda, woulda, but didn't. *Sigh*

@ G_C - I woulda had less of a problem with it if he'd been more upfront about it. I really don't enjoy the playing of emotions, and I can detach myself if need be. So if he woulda just been clear, no feelings would have been involved.

P.S. the strangers is one of the most sadistically boring films i've ever seen.

The strangers had an awful, terrible, boring story. That being said, it's one of the few movies that has ever genuinely frightened me. I've seen lots of horror films, but the strangers was actually a bit scary.

To me.

i've heard the same thing from a lot of people, i just don't understand it. only got one or two jump scares out of it, but any movie can do that, it's the oldest, cheapest trick in the book.
