A spanish zombie movie made in Cloverfield style! It's pretty realistic and a lot better than Cloverfield. The movie was filmed in real locations, no sets were build to make this movie.

From some IMDB.com user:

"The way the movie is recorded, it looks difficult to know how it will be possible for the movie to go on. But it gets on, and better! The fear increases because you do NOT see completely what it's happening. That's the tricky part: You (and the actors) know/don't know, see/don't see. The action and the images are not completely evident and clear. But it can be good for the movie. It's not Dawn of the Dead, it's different, but I also liked it a lot!"

First I thought that "Oh fuck, please not another experimental indy movie" and later on I was almost yelling "Run shit face, there's a zombie behind you!"

Good movie! Go see it, download it, rent it, whatever just watch it!

Saw it.

Didn't like it. Too much of a downer ending to be honest. Plucked off one by one.

So uh...

How awful do you feel that they just Americanized this film¿

I've never heard of a remake made just one year after a film's original release.

I hate watching movies not in my native English.

Call me American, whatever. I don't know enough Spanish to watch films in the language. I know enough to get by in Mexico if I make'em talk reeeeal slow.

Really? I hate watching American remakes.

Theyre just never as good as in their original state.

Most remakes, of any movie, are not as good as the original.

Americans like to blow shit up more, or add more violence, so the movie may actually change.

partial-topic,
I'm actually planning to see it when it comes out here, for my birthday present.

Some remakes are necessary. Especially in films which tried to use special FX but didn't have the techs, or films that were already violent or had a lot of explosions to begin with.

Examples being most movies made after Stephen King novels, many of the old zombie movies [although I love them with their shitty effects just for the novelty of it] and other movies of said criteria.

But remaking films in English is never necessary. Just add subtitles for gods sakes, instead of making it shitty and watered down and pretending its original in the hope most people wont notice.

Too many Americans are too dumb to read the subtitles fast enough.

I hate my country, with all its people who say literacy is dumb.

"I don't like to read, because it's boring" <-Fuck them.
"I don't like to read, because I could just watch the movie" <-Fuck them.
"I don't like to read. Because." <-Fuck them

Reading is funnnn

I've been seeing commecials for the American version here lately.
Can't say that I'm impressed, it'll probably blow over like any other mediocre zombie movie. :( Thats a shame.

It was a'ight. Totally formulaic and took no risks.
Bringing the cult business in was unnecessary and stupid.

Resurrecting this thread because I finally got around to watching REC. The reporter was a bit of a bitch, but I liked this film. That half starved final zombie kinda freaked me out, and I was so happy when the little girl turned out to be infected after her mother had been blaming the Asian lady's father.

REC = win. Seeing the sequel next friday.

Did you actually watch REC or the American remake Quarantine? Because I just watched it and I don't remember no cult business.

To all those complaining about "Americanized" versions of movies made to "dumb it down", that's not how it works. Its based on the market. You can't re-sell a movie with subtitles. You can, however, sell a movie that's in English to an English-speaking audience and make millions off it, more so because it is based on a recently still-fresh popular movie of a foreign origin.

Its not about "dumbing it down". Its about profit.
