The Oscars
Who else is watching it?
I can't decide which one of us will leave here alive
Your fingers breaking as I place them over mine
The only thing I need is time
To change your mind, I said

Fuck Sandra Bullock. That movie was unoriginal and pointless. Streep needs another Oscar.
Also, fuck Avatar. District 9 was so much more impressive. If it's aliens had been attractive cat people everyone would have been on it's nuts...

It was pretty funny. Did you watch the best picture speech? That journalist was acting pretty fucking creepy the way he kept yanking the director's arm. It was just bizarre.

I didn't notice that. My mom and girlfriend both claim that she was wearing a girdle so tight that she couldn't breath. I don't know if it's true or not, but she was breathing pretty heavy.

It's District 9's plump symbolism that throws me off a bit. Overall great movie nonetheless, well deservered BitTorrent Oscar. I also loved Up a bunch. In retrospective Inglorious Basterds was fun, but there wasn't much that stuck in my book. Or rather it feels more like "that movie were Christoph Waltz played that awesome role"
I'll watch the Hurt Locker the next days and find out what it's made off. I hope it isn't such a disappointment like Slumdog Millionaire (Good - yes. But 8 Oscars?!)

The Oscars are about politics. Slumdog Millionaire won because of timing. Our country has become more involved with Arab and Desi culture lately and Bollywood is becoming popular in Hollywood. So while it was only a decent movie, it was playing at the right time to get too many votes.
Same for Hurt Locker. It's damn good, but it just didn't seem to effect me as strongly as an Oscar winner should. The Departed is still my favorite out of all the Best Pictures.

Very true. It's also about hitting the jury on the right nerve.
One a sidenote: I hate Bollywood movies. I can not even watch it in an ironic way. It causes phsyical pain in me.
Well, except for this music video I guess:

Also, haven't seen The Departed yet. I guess it's about time I get it, since from what I've heard it seems to be a genuinely good film.
The plot actually doesn't sound interesting to me. But good movies draw you into the story anyways. That's what makes great storytelling.

I'm going to rent the Hurt Locker today or tomorrow, I'll tell you which one it is.
