Game of Thrones (No Spoilers Plz)

I'm curious to see who's seen the show and then who actually read the books.

I read the first four probably about 2-3 years ago and was pretty geeked about the possibility of a show, and on HBO no less, so less holding back on the brutality that comes with the series. I just finished the 5th book two nights ago and now have such a heavy craving for the 6th I might go through and read all five again.

And the show itself held itself very close to the novels themselves, straying very little. My girlfriend who has never read the books got hooked by the end of the first episode and watched to the last, and fantasy isn't usually her cup of tea.

But lets just say I recommend it and leave it at that.
Is there a promised land
Or am I on the journey going to nowhere?
Are the streets paved with gold
Or am I slipping on the mold that slowly grows there?

read most of the books, seen the show, enjoyed both.
i was surprised how closely the show followed the books, and even more surprised how well it translated from paper to screen doing so.
one of the better shows out there these days, i'd say.

I've been meaning to watch this for ages, but I haven't had the time or the bandwidth yet. Definitely going to try to get onto it soon, though, I've heard its amazing, and fans of the book liking it too is definitely a good sign.

Didn't read the books, but finished the first season a few weeks ago.

I didn't get quite into it at first, but after 1-2 more episodes I got hooked. Amazing series.
