Happy Halloween!

Postby HeRetiK » Tue Oct 31, 2006 5:54 pm

Seeing carved pumpkins everywhere I feel obliged to do this. So happy spooky seasonal greetings to all of you!

Check out the MINDistortion forums if you're bored, maybe sign up as well.

Or drop by at our unofficial irc channel #mindistortion at irc.quakenet.org.

Or both. Yeah, do both. You want to.

Is there a promised land
Or am I on the journey going to nowhere?
Are the streets paved with gold
Or am I slipping on the mold that slowly grows there?

Austria didn't either until it became a victim of commercialist Americanization a few years ago...

Sorry, we left-winged liberalist chain-smoking europeans are strictly against having fun.

I really just don't understand what is so scary about having a candle inside a pumpkin. Anyone??

"An Irish legend tells of Jack, a lazy but shrewd farmer who uses a cross to trick the Devil, then refuses to free him unless the Devil agrees never to let Jack into Hell. The Devil agrees. When Jack dies, the Devil won't let him into Hell. So Jack carves out one of his turnips, puts a candle inside it, and begins endlessly wandering the Earth for a resting place. He is known as "Jack of the Lantern," or Jack-o'-Lantern."

They arent meant to be scary.

Hmmm, we were past Halloween by about Oct 20. At that time they start putting up the Christmas displays.

I hate Christmas. Commercialised shit. Is there even any meaning left?

Halloween on the other hand was a pointless holiday from the start, so thats okay. I went to a costume party, got extremely drunk and left all of my stuff in this guys car so I had to walk to work (Pak 'n' Save) in my costume the next day. Oops.

Seriously though, all the shops have put up their xmas decorations already. Its still fucking november. All this buildup for one day? Seems stupid.
